Greg Hicks
Greg Hicks graduated from NC State University with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Chemical Engineering. While at NC State, Greg was an ACC
conference champion twice in the sport of wrestling. Upon graduation,
he decided to delay his engineering career and join an all-star sports
organization called Athletes in Action (AIA), a division of Campus
Crusade for Christ. He rose to the leadership level of Assistant National
Director while continuing his athletic career. Greg competed in the
World Championships for the USA twice and won a gold medal in the
Pan American Games. After leaving AIA, Greg became the general manager
of a professional sports franchise in 1981.
Leaving the sports world in 1983, Greg became a professional fund
raiser for various organizations and in 1985 decided to utilize
his diverse marketing, management, and financial background to begin
his own business. He became a financial planner in 1985.
In 1987, Greg started his own financial planning firm, called Financial
Resource Management, Inc., a registered representative of Capital
Investment Group Inc. That same year, he started the popular Financial
Fair Seminars in Raleigh, with radio station WPTF and four years
later in Greensboro with WSJS and in 2001 with WTKF in Morehead
City. Today, Financial Resource Management Inc. has offices in Raleigh,
Greensboro and Morehead City serving clients throughout North Carolina
and several other states. Financial Fairs have been held in 30 cities
nationwide.
Greg is active in the community with Crossroads Fellowship Church
and as a volunteer coach at NC State University. He is married and
lives in Raleigh with his wife, Sue and two children, Cari and Nathan.
Wanda Cooper
Wanda Cooper joined Financial Resource Management, Inc., in March
of '97 after having worked in the banking industry for 18 years.
Wanda managed 2 branches of First Union National Bank in Raleigh,
NC and specialized in small business and mortgage lending. She received
her Series 6 and 63 licenses in 1992 while with the bank and began
personal investment counseling. She received her NC Life and Health
Insurance License in 1995, her Medicare Supplement and Long Term
Care Insurance license in 1997 and her series 7 in 1999.
Wanda is active in the Clayton community and is a member of Mount
Moriah Baptist Church. She is married and lives in Clayton with
her husband Rick, and their two children, Richard and Jordan.
